Came across this nasheed while surfing around. Brilliant Wording!

If you want to be like a mole (or “beauty mark”) distinguished amongst the human race.

Then track the trails of a generation that planned and outlined for excellence.

The generation of Zaid and Osaid and Mu’ath and Al-Bara’.
(Zayd ibn Thabit – Usaid bin Hudhair – Mu’ath bin Jabal -Al-Bara’ ibn Malik)

They were like stars in the darkness and on the unjust they were falling comets.

They are clear full moons with no clouds to disrupt visibility.

They all were “Effort” and “Striving” in character.

They were needed rain (Help) that fell on all.

They divorced life and lived as torches of guidance on its aspects.

They filled earth with peace, science and virtues.

They guided every misguided one who is from the guidance of Islam have lost course.

So, O my people when will we rebuild…When?…When?

What we have by our own hands destroyed…When?…When?

Boasting about Khabib and Al-Muthana will gain us nothing. (Khabib bin Uday – ِAl-Muthna bin Harithah)

injustice will not be removed from us by saying “We were this…We where that”.

The narrow-minded blind

These lines, taken from ‘An essay on man’ by Alexander Pope, are truly thoughtful. Call it the narrow mindedness of man, but the truth is although man knows that further down the path of life, he will undoubtedly experience great sorrows and griefs, yet, he goes on. Why? Because he’s blind, and oblivious to the future. Take, for example, those afflicted with diseases for which no cure has been found- it must indeed be an experience beyond pain, only because they know what lies in wait for them.

So, future blindedness and hope of a better tomorrow is indeed a great blessing- don’t waste your time in trying to forecast the future, utilize the TODAY, and hope for the best! 🙂

Heav’n from all creatures hides the book of fate,
All but the page prescrib’d, their present state
From brutes what men, from men what spirits know
Or who could suffer being here below?
The lamb thy riot dooms to bleed today,
Had he thy reason, would he skip and play?
Pleas’d to the last, he crops the flow’ry food,
And licks the hand just rais’d to shed his blood.
Oh blindness to the future! kindly giv’n,
That each may fill the circle mark’d by Heav’n
Who sees with equal eye, as God of all,
A hero perish, or a sparrow fall,
Atoms or systems into ruin hurl’d,
And now a bubble burst, and now a world.
Hope humbly then; with trembling pinions soar;
Wait the great teacher Death; and God adore!
What future bliss, he gives not thee to know,
But gives that hope to be thy blessing now.
Hope springs eternal in the human breast
Man never is, but always to be blest

Reality Check

Wrote this a long time back- or what seems to be a long time back now. 03/11/2005.

Time flies, the clock cries
Yet you indulge in your brainless lies
You arent even aware of what logic implies-
Is that the reason behind your demise?
